DW wins contracts with EUROCONTROL

DW is pleased to announce that we have commenced work on 4 new projects with EUROCONTROL. We will be using in-house expertise together with specialist support from our partners as part of our commitment to team-building and matching industry talent to the challenges faced by the aviation community.

Augur Enhancement

DW reengineered Augur, the RAIM Prediction tool (augur.ecacnav.com) in 2005 and took responsibility for its operation in January 2006. DW is now spearheading a project to add Fault Detection and Exclusion (FDE) functionality to the application to cater for the requirements of TSO 145/146 compliant receiver equipment.

In addition, DW will plan for the implementation of an interface between Augur and the European AIS Database (EAD).

Integricom will be providing technical consultancy for the FDE RAIM algorithm specification.

PBN Computer Based Training (CBT) Package

DW is developing an online awareness package to introduce the concept of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) to the aviation community. This will reflect the outcome of three years deliberations by the ICAO RNP Special Operational Requirements Study Group (RNPSORSG). DW has worked closely with the Study Group during the development of the ICAO PBN Manual which will replace the existing RNP Manual.

Arcada Ltd will provide input into the user-interface for the CBT.

RNAV Validation Tool

Having completed feasibility and scoping studies for an RNAV Procedure Validation Tool earlier this year, DW have now been tasked with developing an RNAV Procedure Validation desktop application with an online server interface for data updates.

The Ecole Nationale de L'Aviation Civile will provide expert support in the fields of procedure design and specialist procedure design software integration during the development and testing phases of the project.

FAS Data Block

DW is conducting a study into how the Final Approach Segment data can be managed and will develop a prototype to enable the proposals to be evaluated. The study will include a review of the outstanding inconsistencies concerning FAS DB in the ICAO Annexes and SARPs.

In addition DW will develop a prototype web-based software application for the generation of FAS Data Blocks including the Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC).
