Spectrum and Frequency Information Resource

The EUROCONTROL Spectrum and Frequency Information Resource (SAFIRE) is an interactive website application hosted and operated by DWI since 2006. This web site has been designed to be used by frequency and spectrum managers that are active in this field in Europe, and also by casual users who wish to find out general information about aeronautical spectrum.

SAFIRE provides stakeholders with web access to a common frequency assignment reference for all aviation bands, with the added procedural functionality to be able to co-ordinate frequency assignments online. The system allows the management of all the aviation spectrum allocations, co-ordination of the VHF COM frequencies and is a State updateable reference to radar assignments.

SAFIRE is used by stakeholders in an operational context and it is essential that the application is highly available and reliable - 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

DWI continues to improve and add functionality to the tool to enhance its ease of use for spectrum professionals.
